O’Domnhail redid the song into a very lovely and sweet . · This is the second installment in R. A. Like the first in the series, TEA, Twisting the Rope is a book that breaks through genres so hard there are no genres left standing in the end. This one, like the first, has the tiniest bit of fantasy and a lot of music, dressed up in a mystery plot.
R A Macavoy's Twisting the Rope is a sequel to Tea with the Black Dragon. This time out Long is nursing a cold as well as Martha's touring group when a death of one of the musicians occurs and her granddaughter she is babysitting goes missing. The band is a hodgepodge of eclectic music with each member harboring deep, dark secrets. Written in the mid 80's this book is a great favorite of mine, an urban fantasy mystery that mixes Celtic and Eastern lore with some solid detection. The scenes with the band seem very true to life and the fantasy elements are delightfully underplayed. The chapter titles, by the way, as well as the title Twisting the Rope are all titles of trad.
